Overview
A 16,000 SF complete demolition and buildout of new lab and office space for a confidential life science client in San Jose. The new facility was built to support biosafety-level research with multiple specialized lab environments under one roof.
Scope
Full demolition of the existing space, then a new buildout with all new wet and dry HVAC systems and process piping to serve the new lab equipment. Fixed casework, Nederman exhaust arms, and fume hoods installed throughout. Additional ventilation and HVAC units brought the facility into code compliance. The new layout includes a lab vault, micro-biology lab, inorganic lab, and cold/tissue culture room, plus office space and an ADA-compliant restroom. Site upgrades completed the project.
Outcome
A fully operational life science research facility with multiple specialized lab environments ready for BSL1 and BSL2 work. The wet and dry HVAC systems plus dedicated process piping give the client room to expand experimental work without retrofitting the infrastructure.
